How we make dentures

Dentures are removable teeth and are more commonly referred to as “false teeth”. Dentures are used when teeth or the tissue that holds them, are significantly damaged.
At Unique Dental, we take special care in preparing dentures for our patients. We understand that each and every set of dentures is unique. As a result, we give special attention to each patient and their teeth patterns.
In order to provide a denture that fits perfectly with other teeth and precisely over the position of the damaged teeth, the following steps are followed:

• Taking impressions of the teeth
• Recording bite tracts
• Trial wax insertions

Whether a denture is made for one tooth or an entire set of teeth, the Unique Dental team puts its full attention on the process of making that customised denture.

Clean and perfect fixing of dentures

Sometimes, when a denture is fixed in the mouth, some adjustments may need to be made to already existing teeth. This is because the dentures may use existing teeth to hold them in place in order to achieve a seamless result.

What kind of dentures do we provide?

We have served our patients with many kinds of perfectly crafted dentures in Merrylands for many years.

There are two kinds of dentures available at Unique Dental:

• Partial dentures
• Complete dentures

As the name suggests, partial dentures are offered to replace one or more teeth that may have been lost as a result of an oral ailment or injury. Complete dentures are used to cover a complete set of teeth on the upper or lower jaws or both.

There are two types of complete dentures available:

• Conventional dentures
• Immediate dentures

Conventional dentures are placed after a specific dental surgery. It usually takes 2-4 weeks to fix those dentures after the surgery. This period is necessary for the healing of gums and related tissues. In the case of immediate dentures, all the procedures for making a denture are completed before the surgery. The denture is completed in advance and placed on the jaw immediately after surgery.
